During the test build of Project Aether, there was a cross-threaded bolt on the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler. During the install, this led to some damage to a trace on the MSI Z97 G55 SLI motherboard PCB. Not all RAM was detected after this fault.
Here you can see the successful motherboard PCB repair using silver conductive paint. The area was masked with tape and protective coating of the motherboard was carefully stripped back.
Silver paint was used to bridge the broken trace, and this was left for several hours before testing. After the repair, the desktop PC booted perfectly and all RAM was detected.
